Your Next Sale Won’t Start on Google. It Will Start on ChatGPT

At the speed things are changing, I’m not sure it’s always possible to stay one step ahead.

But if you’re prepared, you can definitely stay ahead of your competition. And that’s the real key.

“Having Monday’s newspaper,” as we say here, means having the ability to make decisions before it’s too late — and that’s exactly the point.

Every business owner, whether selling products or services, needs to know this:

  • There’s a new kind of shopper emerging — one who uses AI to buy.
  • They’re not swayed by a marketing campaign.
  • They don’t follow your product or service on social media.
  • They don’t click banners, and you can’t retarget them.
  • They don’t even know your website exists — no matter how beautiful it is.
  • They have a need, and they go directly to the AI model at hand.

If it’s not ChatGPT, it’s Meta (already in WhatsApp) or Gemini, which is built into every Google tool.

That AI responds, recommends, offers options, filters others out, tells them which is better and why… and finally gives them the best price, builds their cart, and sends them to the store that’s ready for it.

This isn’t fantasy.

It’s not happening in some distant market.

It’s happening right now.

So, here’s the question:

  1. Is your ecommerce platform ready for this?
  2. Can it even give you the possibility?

From everything I’ve seen, only Shopify has truly stayed ahead — not only by incorporating AI into its platform, but by opening its technology to AI models.

Today, it’s already integrated with ChatGPT, and they plan to enable direct catalog connections for merchants.

That’s selling with Monday’s newspaper in hand.
